Items

Items are the things being auctioned. This guide explains how to create and manage auction items.

Creating an Item

  1. Navigate to your auction
  2. Click “Add Item”
  3. Fill in the item details:
    • Name - Clear, descriptive title
    • Description - Detailed information
    • Starting Bid - Minimum bid amount
    • Currency - Select from available currencies
    • Images - Upload one or more photos

Item Details

Name

Choose a clear, descriptive name.

Description

Include condition, dimensions, history, and any defects.

Starting Bid

The minimum amount for the first bid.

Images

  • First image becomes the thumbnail
  • Drag to reorder
  • Supported: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP

Managing Items

Editing an Item

  1. Click on the item
  2. Click “Edit”
  3. Modify the details
  4. Click “Save Changes”

You cannot change currency or starting bid after bids have been placed.

Ending an Item Early

  1. Go to item edit page
  2. Click “End Item Now”
  3. Confirm the action

Deleting an Item

  1. Go to item edit page
  2. Click “Delete Item”
  3. Confirm the action
Deleting an item removes all bids permanently.

Item States

Active

Item is accepting bids.

Ended

Bidding is closed, shows winning bid.

Draft

Item is created but not yet visible to other auction members. Only you can see draft items until you publish them.

Bulk Edit

Bulk Edit allows you to modify multiple items at once, saving time when managing many listings.

Accessing Bulk Edit

  1. Go to My Listings page
  2. Click “Bulk Edit” button

Features

  • Inline Editing - Click any cell to edit directly in the table
  • Multi-Select - Check multiple items to apply changes to all at once
  • Bulk Actions:
    • Change currency for all selected items
    • Update starting bid
    • Update minimum bid increment
    • Publish or unpublish items

How to Use

  1. Select items using the checkboxes on the left
  2. Choose a bulk action from the toolbar:
    • Select a currency from the dropdown
    • Enter a starting bid amount
    • Enter a minimum increment
  3. Click “Apply” to update all selected items
  4. Use “Publish All” or “Unpublish All” for quick status changes

Changes are saved immediately when you click Apply or toggle publish status.

Restrictions

  • Items with bids cannot have their currency or starting bid changed
  • You can only edit items you created

CSV Import

CSV Import allows you to create multiple items at once by uploading a spreadsheet file.

Accessing CSV Import

  1. Go to My Listings page
  2. Click “CSV Import” button

CSV File Format

Your CSV file should have headers in the first row. Supported columns:

Alternative column names are supported:

  • name: title, item
  • description: desc
  • currency: currencyCode, currency_code
  • startingBid: starting_bid, startbid, price
  • minBidIncrement: min_increment, minbidincrement

Import Process

  1. Select Target Auction - Choose which auction to import items into
  2. Upload CSV File - Click the upload area or drag and drop your file
  3. Preview & Edit - Review parsed items, fix any errors, make adjustments
  4. Import - Click “Import Items” to create all items

Validation

Items with errors are highlighted in red and cannot be selected for import until fixed:

  • Name is required
  • Description is required
  • Starting Bid cannot be negative
  • Min Increment must be greater than 0

Fix all validation errors before importing. Items with errors will show the specific issue under each field.

Editing Before Import

You can edit items in the preview table before importing:

  • Click any cell to edit inline
  • Use bulk actions to update multiple items
  • Remove unwanted items with the X button
  • Download a template CSV for reference

Template

Click “Download Template” to get a sample CSV file with the correct format and example data.
