Roles & Permissions
Auktiva uses a role-based permission system. Each member has a role that determines what they can do.
Role Hierarchy
From most to least permissions:
- Owner - Full control
- Admin - Management access
- Creator - Can add items
- Bidder - Can only bid
Role Details
Owner
The auction creator. There can only be one Owner.
- All Admin permissions
- Delete the auction
- Cannot be removed
Admin
Helps manage the auction.
- All Creator permissions
- Edit auction settings
- Manage members
- Send invitations
- View all bidder identities
Creator
Can contribute items.
- All Bidder permissions
- Add new items
- Edit/delete their own items
Bidder
Default role for new members.
- View auction and items
- Place bids
- Receive notifications

Changing Roles
- Go to the auction’s Members page
- Find the member
- Click the role dropdown
- Select the new role
Role changes take effect immediately.
