Customize your Auktiva account and preferences.

Accessing Settings

  1. Click your profile icon
  2. Select “Settings”

Profile Settings

Display Name

Your name shown to other users.

Email Address

Your login email.

Changing your email requires re-verification.

Security Settings

Changing Password

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Find “Change Password”
  3. Enter current password
  4. Enter new password
  5. Confirm new password
  6. Click “Update Password”

Email Notifications

Control which email notifications you receive.

New Item Notifications

Get notified via email when a new item is added to an auction you’re a member of.

  • Enabled - Receive emails for new items
  • Disabled (default) - No emails for new items

Outbid Notifications

Get notified via email when someone outbids you on an item.

  • Enabled - Receive emails when outbid
  • Disabled (default) - No outbid emails

Email notifications are separate from in-app notifications. You’ll still see notifications in the app even if email is disabled.

Display Preferences

Theme

Choose your preferred color scheme:

  • Light - Bright background
  • Dark - Dark background
  • System - Match device settings

Language

Select your preferred language for the interface. Auktiva supports:

  • English (default)
  • Polish (Polski)
  • Hungarian (Magyar)
  • German (Deutsch)
  • Spanish (Español)

Account Actions

Logging Out

  1. Click your profile icon
  2. Select “Sign Out”

Deleting Your Account

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. This action complies with GDPR data deletion requirements.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll to the bottom to find “Delete Account” section
  3. Click “Delete My Account” button
  4. A confirmation modal will appear

If You Own Auctions

If you are the owner of any auctions, you must decide what to do with each one before deleting your account:

Option 1: Transfer Ownership

  • Select “Transfer ownership” for the auction
  • Enter the email address of the new owner
  • The new owner must be a registered Auktiva user
  • They will become the new owner with full control

Option 2: Delete Auction

  • Select “Delete auction”
  • The auction and all its items, bids, and data will be permanently deleted

You cannot delete your account while you are the Deployment Admin. You must first transfer deployment admin rights to another user in the Deployment Administration section.

Identity Verification

To confirm deletion, you must verify your identity:

  • Password accounts: Enter your current password
  • Google OAuth accounts: Type your email address exactly as shown

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your profile information (name, email, password)
  • Your user settings and preferences
  • Your auction memberships
  • Auctions you own (if you chose to delete them)
  • Items you created
  • Your bid history
  • Your notifications
  • Connected OAuth accounts (Google)

If you transferred auction ownership instead of deleting, those auctions and their data will remain for the new owner and other participants.

After Deletion

  • You will be immediately signed out
  • You cannot recover your account
  • You can create a new account with the same email if desired
