Bidding
This guide explains how to place bids and track your bidding activity.
Placing a Bid
- Navigate to the item
- View the current highest bid
- Enter your bid amount
- Click “Place Bid”
Bid Requirements
- Must be higher than the current highest bid
- If no bids exist, must meet the starting bid
- Bids are final and cannot be retracted
Once placed, bids cannot be cancelled or reduced.
Anonymous Bidding
Depending on auction settings:
- Visible - Your name appears next to bids
- Anonymous - Identity hidden from other bidders
- Per-Bid Choice - You choose for each bid
Tracking Your Bids
Dashboard
Your dashboard shows items you’ve bid on:
- Your highest bid
- Current highest bid
- Status: Winning or Outbid
Bid Status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Winning | Your bid is currently highest |
| Outbid | Someone bid higher |
| Won | Item ended, you won |
| Lost | Item ended, someone else won |
Notifications
You’ll receive notifications when:
- Someone outbids you
- An auction is ending soon
- You win an item
Winning an Item
When an item ends and you have the highest bid:
- You receive a winning notification
- The item shows “Won” status
- Contact the auction organizer for next steps
Auktiva handles bidding only. Payment and collection are arranged separately.
